Hum TV just released the teasers of its new Ramadan special 'Hum Tum' and while this drama has a star-studded cast, there have been some speculations around the actual series. Like its predecessor 'Suno Chanda', this also follows a family drama with a classic hate-to-love trope between two couples set in the 21st century. Casting the likes of Ahad Raza Mir, Sarah Khan, Ramsha Khan, and Junaid Khan, amongst others this drama is set to be a hit.
While this drama itself is highly-anticipated for the Ramadan season, as the teasers get released, Ahad Raza Mir: who plays one of the leading roles has been facing a lot of criticism and hate for the type of role he is playing. This drama is comedic and hence why so is Ahad's role, yet there is a lot of backlash against him online. A lot of his haters include Sajal Aly's fans and predominantly 'sahad' fans who have been deeming him unworthy of fame and success. He has been receiving comments that target his career but also tie his success to his Ex-wife Sajal Ali.
He has constantly shown that he has amazing acting skills and can play a variety of roles; examples being his role in 'Yaqeen Ka Safar' or 'Aangan', these dramas prove Ahad's skills and variety in performances. The fact that people who seemed to be his die-hard fans just switched loyalties because of an event that occurred in his personal life shows the inconsistency of the internet and the hardships of being a celebrity.
Ahad Raza Mir, who was the heartthrob of the nation is now facing an immense amount of criticism due to events that occurred in his personal life. Ahad has played many different characters in the past and now will be playing a comedic character ‘Adam Sultan’ in ‘Hum Tum’. Actors are given a certain script and role and as a professional in the field, they will do exactly what their character demands. Similarly, we will never see one personality associated with Ahad on screens; one drama character of his can be goofy such as this, or it can be a serious one, a romantic one, and much more in terms of personalities. So giving him hate that he can't act when he is doing exactly what his character calls for is totally unfair.
When we look at his career there is enough proof that Ahad is an amazing actor who built his reputation and career based on his skills. So the hate he is receiving currently is the consequence of his divorce from Sajal Ali rather than from a flaw in his acting or career. All actors play different kinds of roles from emotional to comedic and at the moment Ahad is doing the same. He is testing his range and trying something new.
