Banjo is perhaps one of the only films where we don't see Riteish Deskhmukh making his usual awkward expressions (REF: Great Grand Masti), pouting those dual meaning dialogues that make us cringe more and laugh less.  Banjo presents the actor in a different light as a massy hero, with the touch of subtlety that helps him connect with the masses on a more conventional level.

The trailer of the film is finally out where  Riteish Deshmukh, Dharmesh Yelande (for once he is not seen dancing here) and co., are seen as part of a band. They are ‘discovered’ by a US returned music aficionado, played by  Nargis Fakhri, but not before the boys get to ogle at her in her short shirts and skirts, because she is considered to be maal.

Moving on...she convinces the guys to join the big league and start a proper band using their own instruments like the banjo. However, their ascension is not appreciated by the bigwigs of the music industry and the band faces several challenges as a result. Well, this is what the trailer has shown us about the plot so far and we can only assume.

It is safe to say the movie looks promising and colourful especially when the band is performing on stage. Like mentioned earlier, it is also a refreshing change to see Riteish Deshmukh in such a different role. However, what should really work for the film should be the music, which we didn’t get much of a clue in there.

The film is slated to be released on 23rd September 2016 by Distribution Club in Pakistan.
