Previously, Nazish has done dramas like Thays, Bharosa, Kamzarf etc. In Kahi Deep Jalay, she is currently playing the parallel lead role that has grey shades to it. Audiences and critics alike have appreciated the young actress for her portrayal of Shamila. Shamila is a modern day girl who is jealous of her sister-in-law Rida played by Neelum Muneer. Shamila has already created a lot of troubles for Rida and that’s what is keeping the story forward in the play.
Nazish recently said in an interview that she was a bit apprehensive about the role of Shamila, she said, “I did a lot of homework for this role because Shamila and I are two completely different people. I also wanted that people sympathize with Shamila by the end of the drama and not just hate her. Another reason I took up this role is because Shamila isn’t an out and out negative character. It is a grey character at its best. Like you see that Shamila was very loyal to her husband Faham and she cried a lot and she was devastated when he died in the play”.
The hard work has surely paid off for Nazish, as she said, “I’ve been quite overwhelmed by the feedback from the audience. People are appreciating it a lot and whenever I'm out, very few goes by without taking a selfie".
The actress is currently on a winning spree as she has been offered to play another key role in a Hum TV play alongside Sami Khan and Sonya Hussyn. The drama is currently on production. She said, “It’s an amazing play. The whole cast and crew is fabulous but I can’t reveal much about its storyline as of now”.
Nazish was also invited at Indus University last month as the jury member and guest of honour for the university’s annual theater event and students welcomed her with open arms. The actress said, “Theater has always been my true love. I had so much fun watching live theater after so long. A lot of people in the industry don’t know that I started my career with theater. So to me, it felt like coming home".
Nazish has a degree in fine arts and fashion designing. Her first big break was an Anwar Maqsood play back in 2015 and after that, she switched to TV.
"I'm a firm believer of a saying which goes by 'hard work pays off’. You will always accomplish whatever you want if you work hard enough and with complete passion. Staying put and putting all your efforts is the key to success".
Her first drama was back in 2017 and after that she never looked back. Nazish has given her 100 percent in every drama that she has done so far regardless of the length of her role. She claims," I'm open to all kinds of roles; positive or negative. Being an actress I've learned to be versatile and why not be, that's the art of acting. Length of the role also doesn’t matter to me much. Even if it’s a guest appearance like the one I had in Kamzarf, I am confident that I will make a strong impression on the viewers".
The actress is currently riding high on the success of her latest play Kahi Deep Jale and is in talks for more dramas. Her big screen debut is expected this year with a horror-comedy called Lafangay. She said, “I can’t wait to share with all my fans. It is such a fun film”. Nazish Jahangir is on a roll and critics and audiences alike are sure that she is the next big thing in the industry. We wish her all the very best!
