Five Stuffed Date Ideas For Iftar
Dates and water—the two essentials one needs to open one’s fast. No Iftar table spread goes without the essential dates or dried fruits so we decided to make the most of it and make stuffed and coated dates. Wow, we couldn’t get enough! Here are five easy-to-prepare delicious and healthy date ideas for you.
Coconut ‘Bounty’ Dates
Stuff a date with an almond, dip it into a bowl of melted dark or milk chocolate and then coat it with desiccated/ shredded coconut.
Walnut Stuffed
Stuff a date with crushed walnuts and dip it in a bowl of melted milk chocolate, and then coat it in a bowl full of cocoa powder.
Note: Milk over dark chocolate is preferred here as it will balance out the bitterness
Peanut Butter + Chocolate
For all the peanut butter and chocolate combo fans out there, you need to try this! Stuff a date with a generous dollop of peanut butter, coat with dark or milk chocolate and add an almond on top.
Note: Melt some chocolate on top for decoration
Stuffed Dried Apricot
This is very simple and basic but super delicious and definitely an energy booster. Stuff half a dried apricot in a date. This step is up to you, you can coat with chocolate or have it plain.
Nutty Choco
The name says it all! Stuff crushed almonds, walnuts and pistachios in a date, dip in melted white chocolate and coat with pistachios or shredded coconut (optional).
Pop them in the fridge for at least 2-3 hours so that the chocolate coating won't melt and temper for at least 1 hour before serving.
Can be eaten as a snack or even better devoured with qahwa or black tea.
Enjoy!
