For next season, designers aren't completely reinventing the wheel. Instead, they're building upon the fashion house archives and past trends, adding embellishments here and there or introducing new shapes and materials. Without further ado, the top five shoe trends for this year:
Square Toe
We’re all used to super-sharp, pointed toes, but in 2019, things are going square. For a twist on any of your favorite kicks, ditch your round or pointed-toe favourites for squared footwear.
V-Cuts
In 2019, there's more to V-cuts than your tops neckline. With v-cuts, these shoes all taper off to reveal more of your feet. The tapered trend will be coming to all of your favorite shoes — from mules to flats (and a lot of slingbacks).
Animal Prints
At this point, animal prints are neutrals in our closets. They totally took off in 2018, and this year they’ll be all over our closet — be it either croc or python print, take a walk on the wild side, and these will be your new go-to shoes.
Flip-Flop Inspired Sandals
These aren’t your basic flip-flops, these sandals will be taking over your spring and summer wardrobe.
Architectural Heels
These subtly tapered heels give a trendy update to any block-heels. Try them out in any height, or in a sandal or fancier pump.
