Pakistan's Transgender Activist, Kami Sid To Star in Powerful Film 'Rani'

Renowned social activist Kami Sid made headlines when she debuted as a model in November last year. The transgender activist is now set to appear in a short film to send another message about transgender rights. The film titled Rani directed by US-based director Hammad Rizvi and produced by Karachi-based production house GrayScale. 

Through her film Sid hopes to end the transphobia, present at large in the country, and to break the stereotypes attached to it.



In the powerful film, Kami Sid essays the role of a socially outcast woman who sets out to take care of an abandoned child. Her journey is one of struggle and that is the story.

 

She earlier appeared in a documentary filmed by  BBCHow Gay is Pakistan, and has become known for being vocal about trans gender rights, and is a well known activist for LGBT.
