I will be showing you how to achieve this look, step by step alongside what products i have used. Keep in mind you do not have to use the same products or colours. You can easily tweak it to your own liking but this is just a general idea on how to woo everyone with the perfect smokey eye on Eid day.
I always like to start with eye makeup, especially when doing a smokey eye. I feel like the outcome is a lot neater since i can clean up any fall out or accidents. So the first and most essential step is priming the eye lids. I have used Urban Decay’s anti-aging eye shadow primer potion. This step is essential to keep your lids from creasing.
I have only used eye shadows by Mac Cosmetics to achieve this look but you can use whatever products you own. The technique is what’s most important.
I start by applying Cork, a golden brown, in the crease using a Mac 224 brush as a transition shade to help with the blending process.
I apply Embark, an almost plum kind of brown, in the crease on the outer corner of the eyes with a Mac 217 brush. It is always helpful to go back with the Mac 224 in windshield wiper motions, back and forth, from the inner to the outer corner of the eyes in order to keep everything looking seamlessly blended.
I then add the eye shadow Humid, a shimmery, metallic green, onto the lid space using any pencil brush but it is important only to apply this colour on the outer corner of the eyes. I go back with the Mac 224 again and blend out the crease area so that there are no harsh lines. I then apply the shade Wood-winked, a warm antique gold, onto the lid using a small flat brush. Then using the Mac 224, I blend again, especially the centre of the lid space where the gold and green colour meet.
Keep blending.
I apply the shade White Frost, a white shadow, perfect for highlighting, on the inner corners of the eye and the brow bone. Using the Bobbi Brown gel liner in ‘Black Ink’ I darken the lash line and create a wing at the outer corners. I use Mac’s eye kohl in Costa Riche to darken both the upper and lower water line. I smoke out the lower lash line using the eye shadow Embark, that we earlier applied in the crease, using a pencil brush.
I curl my lashes and pack on Bobbi Brown’s smokey eye mascara both on the upper and lower lashes. I finish off the eyes by applying false lashes. I have used Kiss Haute Couture lashes in the style Lust.
I use my favourite Urban Decay’s Naked concealer in the shade medium neutral for my under eyes and blend it with a damp beauty blender. I then apply Mac studio fix foundation in the shade NC30 with my finger and blend, again, with a damp beauty blender. Before I start contouring, I set everything with the Laura Mercier translucent powder. This not only makes the makeup last much longer but also makes blending the contour a lot easier.
I use the Anastasia Beverly Hills contour kit in the shade Light-Medium to create the illusion of cheekbones which I further highlight using Becca’s Shimmering Skin Perfector in the shade Opal.
I finish the look by using the Kylie Lip Kit in the shade Exposed which I absolutely love. I have never found a nude that is as perfect for me as this this one. Then I spritz the Urban Decay All Nighter setting spray which is essential in order to look our best throughout Eid day.
Hopefully this was helpful…. Eid Mubarak everyone, have a great day!!!
