A relationship that personified #couplegoals has met it's end: actors Anna Faris and Chris Pratt have announced in a joint statement that they have decided to separate after 8 years of marriage. The couple who are parents to four-years old son Jack, have been in the spotlight more so than ever in the last few years with the explosive turn that Chris' career has taken.

With smaller rolls on TV shows before landing his big break on Parks and Recreation as lovable goofball Andy Dwyer, Chris Pratt cemented his status as a Hollywood A-Lister when he beefed up and landed roles in films like Zero Dark Thirty, the blockbuster record breaker Guardians of the Galaxy and the Jurassic Park reboot. Anna Faris had a number of early 2000's hits including the Scary Movie series, Just Friends across of Ryan Reynolds and House Bunny and has most recently been starring on the Emmy nominated series, Mom.

The actors met in 2007 on the set of Take Me Home Tonight and were married in a beautiful ceremony in Bali, Indonesia.

The couple has been celebrated for their down home and humble approach to both fame and their family, often quoted in interviews as preferring to be away from the Hollywood world and stay within their family bubble. Both Chris and Anna were not shy about sharing their affection for one another on their social media.

In a statement that Chris posted to his Facebook page and Anna posted to her Instagram the couple announced that they are legally separating, "We are sad to announce we are legally separating. We tried for hard for a long time and we're really disappointed. Our son has two parents who love him very much and for his sake we want to keep this situation as private as possible moving forward. We still love each other and will always cherish our time together."
