Though after denying the rumors that circulated last month, multiple resources reported the High Court from Malawi granted the 58-year-old living legend the ability to adopt four-year-old girl twins from the country on Tuesday. The lawyer and the twins' father and uncle who served as witnesses appeared in court.
Malawi's judiciary spokesperson Mlenga Mvula told Peopls Magazine the twins' mother passed away in 2012 shortly after giving birth.
Mvula added,
"After their mother died, the children were looked after by their grandmother, who could not fully provide for them, so they were taken into an orphanage."
Furthermore, according to The Guardian, the twins will be adopted from the Home of Hope orphanage in Mchinji, near the western border of Zambia. A government official is set to travel with Madonna, the twins named Stella and Esther to the U.S to ensure she can provide a suitable home for them.
