Toblerone Changes Triangle Shape

Toblerone Changes Triangle Shape
The childhood all-time favourite chocolate, Toblerone known and loved for its unique triangular chunks has now left fans upset over the shape change. After the look of two bars sold in the UK was changed, fans took to social media to voice their concerns.

Reports suggest Mondelez International, the company behind the product, has increased the gap between the pointy triangle peaks of its 400g and 170g bars in an attempt to reduce weight.

Though fans appreciate the company's public announcement on their Facebook page, they were not receptive to the change.

In a statement on the Toblerone Facebook page, the company said it had to make a decision between changing the look of the bars or raising their price. In return, they chose to change the look while keeping it affordable for their customers.

Mondelez US said, "like many other companies, we are experiencing higher costs for numerous ingredients".

"We carry these costs for as long as possible, but to ensure Toblerone remains on-shelf, is affordable and retains the triangular shape, we have had to reduce the weight of just two of our bars in the UK, from the wider range of available Toblerone products," it added.
