Paramount Fine Foods, a Middle Eastern food chain has finally branched itself out from Canada to Pakistan. Situated in Khayaban-e-Shamsheer, the Lebanese restaurant provides a modern fine dining experience while maintaining a traditional touch to it. The new eatery offers mouth-watering delights that are sure to satisfy people's taste buds.

The restaurant is a blend of healthy and flavoursome food; offering fresh organic food made from recipes that have been passed down for generations. With fresh ingredients and a unique array of items on the menu that one usually doesn't find easily in Karachi, the restaurant surely provides an unforgettable experience.

Though the food is currently served in an indoor space, the restaurant is soon to extend its space to a patio where diners will be able to enjoy the traditional style of Lebanese dining.

Upon arrival, other than the staff being extremely hospitable, we were also delighted to see the number of female staff that was employed at Paramount. When inquired about the branding of their own water bottles, the staff mentioned that Paramount donates Rs 5 on the purchase of each bottle to Dar ul Sukun, a home for abandoned children and children with disabilities. Paramount International in Canada has a similar agreement with the Make a Wish Foundation.

The food was impressive as the ambiance of the restaurant. From the complimentary pita that matches the standard of an authentic Middle Eastern pita to the rich and creamy hummus - the appetisers were on point!

The Manakeesh, similar to a pizza that can be served for breakfast or lunch along with the za'atar manakeesh that has the authentic taste of dried herbs, topped with sesame seeds, dried sumac, salt and a combination of other spices is as delicious as it is healthy. These items are definitely a must-try on Paramount's menu.

The shawarma, a classic addition to the menu was flavoursome, light and delicious. A wrap consisting of chewy yet delicious chicken stuffed with fresh vegetables with a side of fries.

Strawberry slush, a refreshing, sweet drink was thirst quenching and satisfying. Adding a bit of sweet to salt - absolutely recommend ditching soft drinks for this bright-coloured drink.

The wholesome Mixed Comb Platter comprising beef and chicken shawarma, two kafta skewers, two shish tawouk skewers, two beef skewers and four falafel pieces served with tahini sauce was the best part of the meal. The combination of different meat options priced at Rs 3,995/ that can surely be shared by a group of three or more was definitely the real deal!

We also had the chance to meet the Head Chef, William el Dbaissy, who has been serving traditional Lebanese food since the beginning of his career. He works in Canada, but is briefly here to train the staff at Paramount Karachi. Moreover we were also greeted by Aman Virjee, the operations head.

Paramount boasts of a hygienic kitchen and a well-trained staff. Though, we didn't get the opportunity to taste the desserts on the menu- the Baklava looked heavenly.

Moreover, from the staff to the ambiance to the food, this restaurant is surely one to try out. The affordable menu, includes prices ranging from PKR300 - PKR4,000/- an unforgettable experience with a great value for money.

Thank you Paramount Fine Foods for bringing a taste of the Middle East even closer.
