Talented, beautiful models paraded down the runway in glamorous ensembles, the silhouettes boasted an array of colours from warm hues to fresh pastels, from velvet to embossed silk, to heavily worked outfits to more minimalistic avatars.
Day Three of PHBCW saw Ali Xeeshan Theatre Studio showcase a one-of-a-kind bridal collection called Denial. As expected, the colors, cuts and the showcase on the ramp was mesmerising!
Ali Xeeshan always brings the x-factor to a show! But along with the dramatic ramp settings was a powerful message on the rights of the girl child supported by UN Women. Education, child marriage, forced marriages, early pregnancy. It is always deeply moving to see fashion support a good cause and Ali's heart was in the right place. As Pakistani men and women we cannot be in denial of the fact that we are beset with issues that effect girls and women in Pakistan and unless we are not engaged as a nation, these problems will not go away. Kudos to UN Women Pakistan for their support and presence at the event. Can we please have more designers plug into social causes that need our attention.
