Documentary On Social Activist Parween Rahman Gets Awarded In Nepal

The documentary titled Perween Rahman: The Rebel Optimist has recently been awarded at the 6th Nepal Human Rights International Film Festival that concluded on Saturday.

The four-day international film festival had over 60 films from across the world selected and screened. However, the hour long documentary directed by Mahera Omar received the Special Jury Mention Award in the non-fiction category.

The documentary that unveils the life and work of an architect and a dedicated social worker who has worked endlessly and courageously for the underprivileged in Karachi. She was murdered on March 13, 2013.
