Fashion Pakistan Collaborates With TDAP for ‘Made in Pakistan’ 2017
The country's top designers put their collections on display. The list included, Amir Adnan, Deepak Perwani, Maheen Khan, Adnan Pardesy, Wardha Saleem, Tena Durrani, Aamna Aqeel, Fnk Asia, Nova Leather, Hassan Riaz, Tena Durrani, Deepak Perwani, Jafferjees, Zuria Dor, Nauman Arfeen and Pink Tree Company.
The fashion show also had a segment that was dedicated to students from renowned fashion institutes such as PIFD, AIFD and TIP. Emerging talents such as Farah Usman, Sundus Talpur, Salman, Zainab, Shahmeer Ansari, Sobia Halar and Naina also showcased their creativity on the catwalk.
The first day opened with Deepak opening the show, showcasing a fusion of the classic modern cuts with a traditional touch. Followed by Amir's menswear that featured western wear in a monochrome theme. Nova Leather presented their range of jackets, skirts, handbags and leather accessories, which were of premium quality and lauded by the foreign design houses. Pink Tree Company stole the show with their traditional representation of Pakistani textile such as Sindi, Susi and Khaddar Fabric.
Day two also had remarkable collections. Aamna's capsule collection, The White Susi, was a collection that combined denim and embroidery - a completely different spin on the traditional collections. She emphasised on traditional embroidery on Western cuts that had an international appeal. Zuria's collection played on a vibrant colour palette which is the hottest trend at the moment. The brand displayed easy chic style. Whereas, Nauman went for a clean white collection, Blanche, with touch of gold inspired by Japanese art. Maheen of Gulabo concluded with her usual style - classy, trendy and safe.
Day 3 presented the Millennial Fashion Showcase.
The aim is to encourage production of value added products from Pakistan and to create a synergy with the industry. Besides providing them solid experience and mentoring in their field, and a chance for their work and talent to be recognised.
