Half Hour With Shees Sajjad Gul
You have suddenly become the favourite child actor in Pakistan. How does that feel? Do you feel like a celebrity?
It feels great – a good experience over all but at times it gets annoying when people don’t let me enjoy my time with my family when I go out – they start asking for selfies everywhere I go. Especially after my grand finale red carpet appearance; crowd of fans started pulling me which I felt really bad about!
Do other kids in school recognise you? What’s their reaction?
Yes. I get recognised by kids at school especially from the most senior class that’s grade five.
Were your parents hesitant at letting you play the character of Roomi in Meray Paas Tum Ho (MPTH)?
No, they were both very happy. My mama was a bit hesitant initially but eventually she was also very happy that I got the part.
Tell us about your favourite moments on the sets of MPTH?
When I used to get to sleep during the scenes.
How was it working with Humayun Saeed and Ayeza Khan? What were they like on set?
It was really good to work with both of them. Humayun Uncle would bring me gifts all the time and Ayeza Aunty brought me chocolates. She really took good care of me and would always show concern about what I was eating.
You also have your own YouTube channel. When did you start that and what is it about?
It’s called Shees Sajjad Gul. I started the channel when I was five-years-old and would review my toys on it. I gained a massive amount of followers after MPTH.
Does it get tiring to be working at such a young age?
I find it very tiring when I am doing ads but during MPTH, I had much time to spare so I would even get to sleep and play on my iPad as well.
One tip on juggling school and work?
Keep the work for after school time only

Name three things that are on your must-do list this year?

I love animals more than humans, especially kids, who I find too mischievous and pushy.

Finn Wolfheart (Mike in Stranger Things)
What’s your dream job?
To become a scientist.
