Pakistan's Academy Award-winning filmmaker Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy to become the first ever artist to co-chair the World Economic Forum.
She will also speak at the 47th World Economic Forum's annual three-day meeting starting January 17 in Davos Switzerland. A statement from her office says Sharmeen considers this as a great honour to represent both the artistic community and Pakistan on this grand platform.
The World Economic Forum is a Swiss non-profit organisation which hosts discussions around current issues the world is facing annually in January. Alongside Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, over 2,500 participants from 100 countries are to participate including business leaders, international political leaders and journalists.
