ROHAIL HAYAT - MUSICIAN/COMPOSER

Record producer Rohail Hayat is largely credited with helping shape and pioneer Western-style rock and pop genres in Pakistan’s music industry. In 1987, Hayat founded the Vital Signs and released its commercially hit and critically acclaimed album, Vital Signs 1. The big commercial success of Vital Signs’ first album helped rise and shape the rock music industry of Pakistan. In 2008, he founded the international music outlet, Coke Studio. Under Rohail Hayat's days as producer, Coke Studio became something of a phenomenon, both in Pakistan and outside that was both cool enough for the youth and appealed to an older generation as well. Given how times have changed, and Coke Studio 12 marked the return of Rohail Hayat, it will be far more interesting to see what he does next with Coke Studio – in any definitive role. We’re already loving the latest season of Coke Studio and the line up of this year just amazing.
