Sania Nishtar is one of Pakistan’s most well respected health professionals and is currently serving as Special Assistant on Poverty Alleviation and Social Safety to the Prime Minister of Pakistan, with the status of Federal Minister, as well as being the Chairperson of the ‘Ehsaas Programme’. In 1998, Nishtar founded ‘Heartfile’, an Islamabad-based health policy think tank and also serves on the board of United Nations University's Institute for Global Health. During 2020 her ‘Ehsaas Programme’ has helped millions of families impacted by COVID-19 shutdowns.
