Dating back to the 14th Century, 'pink' means to decorate with a perforated or punched fashion. In the Rocco period (1720-1777) the shade was enjoying its golden age and pastel colors became fashionable in courts. The mistress of King Louis XV of France, Madame de Pompadour, was celebrated for wearing pink, she even had a particular tint of the colour specifically designed for her.
Furthermore, pink ribbons or decorations were also worn by young boys in the 19th century, overlooking gender bias.
The colour evolved through the 20th century as a bolder and brighter color, in 1931 shocking pink was introduced. Throughout history this color has redefined fashion and certain perceptions as well; can we even imagine a world without pink?
There’s always a classy way to incorporate anything pink into your style , even if you’re not fond of pink if done right you can probably achieve a suitable OOTD.
