Veteran TV actor Farooq Zameer passed away, age 76, on Thursday after a prolonged illness at the Combined Military Hospital Lahore. 

Popularly known for starting his career with Pakistan Television back in the 90s with his famous TV serials being, Rani, Gadaya, Suraagh Zindagi amongst many others. He was loved for his serious acting and was conferred Presidential Pride of Performance award in 2001.

Family sources said the actor will be laid to rest in the Punjab capital on Friday.
