Momal Sheikh to Make Bollywood Debut Alongside Father, Javed Sheikh
The movie titled Happy Bhag Jayee Gi is a light, comedy movie which entwines an Indian girl in a Pakistani world. Many serious Bollywood movies such as Bajrangi Bhaijan and Main Hoon Na have knotted Pakistani and Hindi elements together before, but this film intends to do the same in a humourous perspective.
The film stars Cocktail starlet Diana Penty, Abhay Deol, Jimmy Shergil, Momal sheikh and Javed Sheikh in pivotal roles. The movie is produced by Tanu weds Manu producer, Anand rai and directed by Muddasir Aziz. Aziz has previously directed Shahrukh Khan Starrer, Dulha Mil Gaya.
The production of the movie has been completed and it has been moved to post production stage. Javed and Momal sheikh are completing the dubbing in Mumbai, India.
Talking to H! Pakistan, Javed said,
“It’s a light film, something everyone will enjoy."
He revealed that the plot of the film revolves around Diana Penty, a girl who plans to run away from an arranged marriage. She schemes to run way with her boyfriend on the day of the wedding on a truck, however, accidentally gets on the wrong truck that is taking flowers for the governor of Punjab. She faints and wakes up in Pakistan.
This is Momal's first film project. She told H! Pakistan that the experience in India has been phenomenal. She will be taking on more projects in the future depending on the scripts being offered to her. "One step at a time", she said.
Busy man Javed sheikh travels between Mumbai and Lahore, as he is working on the music for this upcoming directorial Wajood in Pakistan.
