Writer Farzana Naz who sustained severe head and back injuries after falling from a stage at an event passed away. Her fall took place on the last day of the three day literary festival at Islamabad's Pak-China Friendship Hall. She fell from a 12ft high stage.
The 36-year-old poetess was immediately rushed to Shifa International Hospital Islamabad, where she was in ICU. Unfortunately, her injuries proved fatal. She has two children – four and six years old.
Adviser to the Prime Minister for National History and Literary Heritage, Irfan Siddiqui, expressed his condolence over the untimely demise of the young poetess. He also expressed that all arrangements will be made to sponsor the children of the deceased.
