1. You’ve accomplished so much in bodybuilding, including winning Mr. Universe US Gold 2024. What has been the most defining moment of your career so far?
Winning the Gold Medal and PRO CARD in the WFF Mr. Universe 2024 was monumental—a dream come true. But the real defining moment came from years of hard work, juggling two jobs, and working 16-hour days to support my bodybuilding dream. Those early struggles shaped my resilience and drive.
2. Bodybuilding has clearly become your main focus now. How did that transition happen, moving away from IT to fully embracing your passion?
The turning point came when I started working at Core in Karachi while still in IT, which gave me international exposure. Early on, I received support from Core Karachi Gym, McDonald’s Pakistan, and Gul Ahmed. But now, I bear all my own expenses in pursuing bodybuilding. As an internationally qualified fitness trainer, I aim to help athletes in Pakistan succeed globally, despite the high costs associated with the sport.
3. Your journey started almost a decade ago. How have you evolved as both an athlete and a person since you first stepped into the gym?
My journey has evolved from focusing only on the physical aspect to embracing mental and emotional resilience. In the early years, balancing jobs while pursuing bodybuilding built the mental toughness I rely on today. Now, I take a more holistic approach to training, prioritizing recovery and precision.
4. From Mr. Karachi in 2014 to winning international titles, what were some pivotal challenges that shaped you along the way?
Winning Mr. Karachi in 2014 was a breakthrough, but competing internationally brought new challenges—higher standards, tougher competition, and self-funding. Overcoming these obstacles, including covering my own expenses, taught me to push beyond my limits. Each experience has strengthened my resolve and strategy.
5. You’ve achieved success across multiple bodybuilding events. How have your training routines and strategies evolved over time to keep you competitive at the highest levels?
Initially, my focus was purely on intensity, but as I gained international exposure, I began training smarter. Now, it’s all about fine-tuning—precision in targeting muscles, optimizing recovery, and staying updated on the latest in sports nutrition to remain competitive.
6. You’ve competed against some of the best athletes in the region. How do you handle the pressure of competition, especially on international platforms?
Competing internationally, especially as a representative of Pakistan, brings unique pressures. The years of juggling multiple jobs built my mental resilience. I stay grounded by trusting my preparation and visualizing success. I also want to congratulate my teammates who competed in Mr. Universe—we all represented Pakistan with pride.
7. With your vast experience and continued success, what are your current goals in bodybuilding, and how do you envision the next stage of your career?
I aim to continue competing at the highest levels while helping bodybuilding grow in Pakistan. Despite immense potential, our country’s bodybuilding scene is divided across many federations. I would love to see them unite under one platform, as this would offer better opportunities for young athletes. I also thank the WFF for giving us the chance to compete internationally.
8. Bodybuilding requires intense dedication. How do you maintain your physical and mental resilience throughout the demanding training and competition cycles?
Years of managing multiple responsibilities have taught me the importance of balance. Now, I prioritize recovery and mental well-being alongside my intense training schedule. This balance keeps me resilient and ready to face the challenges of elite-level competition.
9. What is your take on the current bodybuilding scene in Pakistan, and how do you think the sport can grow in the country?
Pakistani bodybuilding has great potential, but the fragmented nature of the sport holds us back. We need unity among the federations to provide athletes with the support they need to succeed internationally. I’ve represented Pakistan on the global stage, often covering my own expenses to raise our flag high. Unfortunately, recognition has been limited, as our media tends to overlook these accomplishments without proper verification. But I remain committed to promoting the sport and helping the next generation succeed.
10. With over 15 years of experience in bodybuilding, what key lessons have you learned, and what advice would you give to aspiring athletes starting their own journey?
Success in bodybuilding requires dedication and consistency. Early on, I worked 16-hour days to support my dream, and that hard work shaped my journey. For aspiring athletes, patience and seeking the right guidance are essential. With my international experience, I hope to help Pakistan’s youth excel and contribute to a stronger future for bodybuilding in our country.
