The pop star Elton John and the playwright Paul Rudnick have signed on to write a musical adaptation of The Devil Wears Prada, according to the producer Kevin McCollum.
Elton John has an extensive Broadway experience under his belt, including The Lion King and he won a Tony Award in 2000 for writing the score for Aida. Similarly, Rudnick has been recognised as a comedic playwright, screenwriter and essayist.
The musical will be adapted from the 2003 novel by Lauren Weigberger and the 2006 film starring Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway.
Though the timeline for the project has yet not been announced, the producers said it was being developed for Broadway.
