Here’s How You Can Kick-Start Your Day like the CEO Muneeb Mushtaq
There’s a reason why the most successful people in the world have a habit of waking up early in the morning. Mornings are a crucial part of our day – it’s the only time in our ‘always running’ life where we get to have a few moments to ourselves, before our life and the outside world demands our attention. When you wake up, that first hour is the most important time of the day, which decides whether you’re going to run the day or the day is going to run you.
If you’ve never really thought of turning your mornings into a ritual, then now might be the right time. We are bringing you some great tips to jump-start your day from the young, successful Canadian- Pakistani CEO and the motivational speaker, Muneeb Mushtaq.
Muneeb is a huge advocate of mental wellness and regularly shares valuable content on his social media accounts to help people be more happy and successful in life. We got into a candid conversation with the young CEO, and here’s how he sets himself up for success every day.
Like most successful people, Muneeb Mushtaq has also honed in on his morning routine to maximize the start of the day. Mushtaq often talks about the importance of the start of the day, and this is how he thinks you can also achieve greater focus, clarity, and productivity in life.
1.The first thing Muneeb Mushtaq swears by, is getting enough sleep. “You try to get at least 7 to 8 hours of sleep every night, and your mornings will automatically feel a lot better.”
2.The young CEO believes that the first thing you need to do every morning is to “Focus on yourself. Don’t check your phone, your social media, whatsapp or your emails – just turn off your alarm, and put your phone away. The only person we need to focus on is ourselves in the morning”
3.“Spend the first 15 minutes to meditate. Use meditation apps like the Calm or Headspace app – and meditate.”
4.The next thing he suggests is to “Count your blessings every morning. Think about and count 10 things you’re grateful for in life – it could be your family, your health, a small success at work – or even just the fact that you had a good night’s sleep. Find things, people, events that you are grateful for, no matter how big or small.”
5.You also need to wake your body up physically every day like your mind. He suggests, “After taking care of your mind, you’re going to spend the next 15 minutes on your body. Stretch every part, breath in and out 10 times. Make sure you get your blood pumping.”
6.The last thing in his morning routine is to freshen up and get ready for the day. “Now you are ready to take your shower, brush your teeth, and have your coffee or tea. While you do that, you should also make your to-do list for the day to have everything for the rest of the day under control.”
Consistent morning habits set the tone for the rest of your day, and Muneeb Mushtaq believes that you need to spend one hour on yourself every morning, without worrying about anything else. You can check emails and social media after you spend some time on yourself and have breakfast in peace. He believes that “this way you have connected with yourself, you’ve been grateful, you activated your body – you had your nutrition and now you’re ready to take on the day.”
