Sidra Iqbal Hosts a Power-packed Panel at the Pakistan Climate Conference 2022

Climate change is a serious matter which affects everyone in the world. Not just those who are here now but future generations to come. This means every nation must take a stand somehow to make this planet a better, safer place for years to come so global warming can be delayed at least for the foreseeable future. This leaves us to question what our country is doing to make this happen? What is the perspective of the key stakeholders and corporate heads on the matter? Hence, recently Unilever and OICCI held a conference to ease our apprehensions on what Pakistan is doing for climate change with the Pakistan Climate Conference 2022 and who better to host such an event except for the extremely knowledgeable and poised tv journalist, Sidra Iqbal. Iqbal not only hosted the entire event with grace and eloquence as she does, but she was also the moderator for four powerful panel discussions where CEOs of national and multinational corporations came together to tackle some of the most challenging questions about Pakistan’s investment in creating a cleaner and greener environment.

As someone who is always at the forefront of bringing about positive change in our country through her voice and her actions, Iqbal was a perfect fit for the occasion. While panelists discussed the usage of water, reducing waste, reducing emissions while increasing renewable energy Sidra asked our most pressing questions that we’ve all been wanting answers to, particularly from the corporate section in our country. Panelists and attendees included global climate experts, policymakers, and corporate decision-makers to identify and implement efforts to reduce climate impact in Pakistan. Perhaps some of the most notable speakers at the event include the global Unilever CEO Alan Jope, Advisor to the PM on Commerce and Investment Abdul Raza Dawood and Minister of Climate Change Government of Pakistan Malik Amin Aslam amongst other esteemed CEOs from Engro, Coca-Cola, WWF and several other corporations and organizations which hold a vital role in reducing climate change in Pakistan. Iqbal questioned the practicality of their pursuits to reduce climate impact, what their companies are doing to ensure that clean water is a reality nationwide, how they intend on doing the best they can to reduce waste and several other vital questions we have wanted the answer to. The event in itself inspired hope and inspiration in all as she closed the conference with a note on how being present at Pakistan Climate Conference was an oath to developing and creating a better ecosystem for years to come whether that be through small changes in habit or radical action.

Sidra Iqbal is not only that shining star that has her foot in the door when it comes to events that matter, she actually motivates through her actions as an impact activist for others as well. This was just another inspiring action in her repertoire of key issues which need to be addressed and we can’t wait to see what the ace journalist does next, inspiring us all with one action after the other!
