Pakistan Army appointed its first female Lieutenant General after promoting Major General Nigar Johar to the rank.
She has become the first woman officer in the history of the Pakistan Army to reach the three-star rank. The newly appointed lieutenant general, who hails from the Panjpeer village in Swabi district in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, has also been appointed as the first female Surgeon General of the army said a press release by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the media wing of Pakistan army.
In 2017, she also became the third woman of cer in the history of Pakistan to reach the rank of Major General.
